It is with both gratitude and a touch of sadness that we say farewell to Neil and Jacky, who have recently left Phoenix Concert Band following their relocation.
As founding members, they have been at the very heart of the band since its beginnings. Neil’s dedication as Treasurer and the care both he and Jacky have shown in organising events have helped shape not only how the band runs, but the strong sense of community we all value today.
Their contribution over the years has been truly significant, and they leave behind a lasting legacy that will continue to support and inspire us.
We wish them all the very best in their new chapter, and as they so perfectly put it — this is not goodbye, but au revoir. We look forward to seeing them again at future events.
Neil’s farewell message to the band:
Hi All,
Not Goodbye but Au Revoir
What a great concert! The band sounded wonderful and the soloists excelled themselves! It was a lovely evening for Jacky and me but somewhat bittersweet. How could we be leaving such a brilliant ensemble? Thank you all for your friendship, good humour and talented playing, the band has come such a long way in 30 years! We leave the band in such good hands with a new younger and energetic team (it has always been a team!) running the show.
Jacky and I were overwhelmed by your very generous farewell gift; the band photo will take pride of place in our new home, to constantly remind us of an incredibly special period in our lives. It is, of course not goodbye, but “au revoir” since we intend to be regulars at the Wychcroft weekends.
Once more, thank you everyone.
Very best wishes, Neil and Jacky
PS We hope that we shall see some of you in Frome!
Neil and Jacky Jordan
